5 writing mistakes that make you look dumb
CopyBlogger Brian Clark has put together a short list of 5 easy to avoid mistakes that make you look, in his words, “dumb”. This are all simple writing mistakes and include:
- Your using “your” when you mean you are.
- It’s is what you right when it is, its is what you right when something belongs to it.
- There paper used there when it should have used their, and vice versa.
- Things affect other things, thereby causing an effect.
- The dangling participle. As in:
After rotting in the cellar for weeks, my brother brought up some oranges.
Uhh… keep your decomposing brother away from me!
