Ten reasons why ants are better at setting goals than humans
Achieve IT! has a fun little article explaining the top ten reasons why ants are better goal setters than you. Well worth the read.
As a child I used to love torturing ant colonies in my backyard each summer. I’d burn them, flood them, spray paint them, stomp on them, and spray anything I could find in the garage that had a warning label. And yet, despite my best efforts, they would always rebuild and strip the surrounding area of small twigs and pine needles, heaping them together into their ever expanding palaces. Few of God’s creatures can compare to the simple ant’s drive, determination, and ability to cooperate to get the job done.
Here is a quick summary of the top ten list:
- Ants follow proven instruction.
- Ants are determined.
- Ants see defeat as only temporary.
- Ants Collaborate better than Wall Street Executives.
- Ants defend what they have and expand it.
- Ants never let personalities get in the way.
- Ants never spend their whole paycheck.
- Ants expect more from themselves than should be possible.
- Ants remain focused until they succeed.
- Ants never give up.
